Disposable tableware can be divided into the following 3 classes according to its raw materials, processing technique, degrade method and recycle level:
1. Biodegradable, e.g. paper products（including paper pulp molding type, paper pulp coating type）, edible powder molding type, plant fiber molding type, etc.
2. Photodegradable/ Biodegradable materials: photodegradable/ biodegradable plastic type (non-foamable), e.g. photodegradable/ biodegradable PP type;
3. Easy to recycle: e.g. polypropylene series (PP), high impact-resistant polystyrene series (HIPS), biaxially oriented polystyrene series (BOPS), products of polypropylene composite filled with natural inorganic mineral, etc.
Tableware that does no harm to our environment shall comply with following requirements:
First, it shall be made of materials that are nontoxic, odorless, and degradable and does not pollute the environment during producing, use and destroy;
Second, its quality shall fully comply with national requirements on food safety;
Third, it shall be recyclable or disposable after use. Environmental harmless tableware does not mean it can be degraded as degradable tableware is only a kind of environmental harmless tableware.
