Brief introduction
  Printing refers to a kind of technique that transfers the graphic and text information to printing stock by plates or other methods.
Printing is one of China’s four great inventions in ancient times, namely printing, gunpowder, paper making and compass.
  As a representation of ancient Chinese’s wisdom, the invention of printing has made inestimable contributions to the development of human being. Therefore, the best title to give to printing shall be Mother of Civilization.
Concept
  The word printing in Chinese is Yin Shua; Yin, as its literal meaning implies, means leave traces and Shua means coating and rubbing, therefore, coating and rubbing an object to leave traces is what we call printing. In short, printing is an industry that produces presswork. To print,  there are 3 steps, first, carve printing plates; second, coat the plates with ink; third, transfer the ink on the plates to paper, silk, leather….
  From scientific point of view, Printing means shapes and colors of any traces that are left on object (paper in a narrow sense) can be distinguished by visual sense through reflecting or absorbing lights.
  From cultural point of view, printing is a way to express and hand down human thoughts. Printing in ancient China was carried out by coating the plate using a brush soaked in ink; cover a piece of paper on the plate surface, and then use another dry one to slightly brush the paper back, thus, the raised reverse letters will be printed on the paper. Since one brush gets one print, it was called Brush-Print
  Generally, printing is a direct or indirect way to transfer images or texts to paper or other stocks, and can be copied rapidly in large amount. It shall first make plates and then coat plates with ink or pigments.
