Developing History of Printing Technology
As a main part of Chinese culture, printing technology in China has a long and far-reaching history about more than 5 thousand years, including beginning stage, ancient stage, modern stage and current stage. In early days, people created early symbols to record events, hand down experience and knowledge. In order to carry these symbols, people at that time could only use objects in nature, such as leaf, animal’s bone, stone, tree’s skin, etc. Due to the expensive carriers, only important events were recorded in general. Most of the valuable experience could only be orally handed down, which greatly obstructed the development of our society and culture.
However, the invention of printing changed the situation greatly. People’s experience can be written down by letters or characters, thus, they can be copied and transferred in great amount. Since then, great changes were made to our society, and more and more people got chances to study.
